Cabinets, like any other material composed of wood, medium-density fiberboard, melamine, or thermo foil, are sensitive to severe heat or moisture. Cabinets from kitchen cabinet refacing in Aliso Viejo need proper care to avoid kitchen steam damage.
The most typical effect of heat and steam-producing equipment is cabinet damage. The substrate or substance of your cabinetry determines the extent of the damage. Wood cabinets from kitchen cabinet refacing in Orange County, for example, may get steam burnt, whereas thermo foil, melamine, or wood replacement cabinets can discolor or even melt.
In addition, countertop appliances may generate a significant amount of steam under the upper cabinets. Moisture will spread across the doors, causing steam burns or possibly melting your cabinets. It would help if you moved steam-dispensing equipment beyond your upper cabinets so that the steam emitted immediately below your upper cabinets does not contact the doors. This will help your cabinets last for many years.
Pressure cookers, multicookers, and the air fryer may also produce a considerable volume of steam at a very high density, so it is advised that they be used beneath a functional vent hood if the steam has to be released.
Also, some built-in refrigerators need the installation of a stainless venting panel just above the refrigerator. Failure to do so may result in inefficient heat distribution and damage to the cabinets above the appliance. It may also cause your appliance to fail prematurely owing to a lack of ventilation. When in doubt, consult with your appliance specialist and adhere to the appliance requirements to ensure that all necessary components and panels are integrated into the design.
Heat burn on counters is another effect. For example, a slow cooker on some granite or quartz counters might generate heat rings; thus, it is advised that you set your slow cooker on a heat-resistant surface, such as a ceramic cooktop, or use a heat-resistant trivet underneath it to prevent heat from penetrating your countertop.
